Get Yourself a Dream...something to hope for!
It's probably a good thing to take lots of photos in winter.
It is rather magnificent to look back at all the beauty that
wasn't just a figment of our imagination.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to take note of the moment and
DO NOT let it go...
for you see, the world is right now so beautifully dressed
Those old family photos.....it was so long ago.
They provide us the grand essentials of happiness,
Something to do, something to love and something to hope for~
First a howling blizzard woke us.
When little things are so nice, they become big things, she thought!
I think we shall have a breakfast party....yes.....
let's have German pancakes, thick-cut bacon and hot maple syrup
poured over the entire plate.....right there, outside under that tree.....
maybe not today, but someday~
The Romance of Home
Cooking Smells are very romantic in a cozy home
It was necessary to throw a sweater over her apron during the winter months.
I will always remember the banana fritters she would make for breakfast.
We ate every bite, along with hot coffee served with lots of milk and sugar.
I was only three.
After careful consideration, she removed all the kitchen cupboard doors and
she placed her most beautiful dishes there for all the world to see.
Now these three things remain~
Faith,
Hope and Love
But the greatest of these is
Love ♥
1 Corinthians, 13
Beautiful, and the Scripture at the end is perfect. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet Andrea! I appreciate your comments and for spending a few minutes to visit Estelle's! Hope your New Year is off to a great beginning!
DeleteYou have some stunning photos here! I love the two story home in the first photo. Does it belong to someone in your family? The breakfast party sounds wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHi Cheryl! The house reminded me very much of my Grandmothers.....I thought of her as I was writing this post....all so long ago, but such precious memories! So happy you stopped by today and took the time to leave such kind words!
DeleteIt was ..like falling in love in a way. I do that with some blogs, and yours was one of those today. It...just "hit" me, as they say. I loved it..how you spoke of hearth and home and family. Simply lovely, Estelle.
ReplyDeleteMona
Oh Dear Mona....I am quite humbled by your sweet and kind comment. I so appreciate you and your lovely blog. At times, it can be a good laugh or laughter through tears...thank you love!
DeleteNow someone, perhaps you, perhaps not you, began following me today and, though I tried to find the elusive E, I could not. Then, I thought to google and up popped this most charming of blogs and I am totally smitten by it. Perhaps it is because of the colors...not a lot of white and cold blue...perhaps it is the writing, perhaps it is the Maine connection, though I see that you are now in Texas. Well, a gal can be forgiven leaving Maine for Texas...
ReplyDeleteHi V! Indeed, it was me that had discovered your blog this morning and found it so lovely! Thank you for taking time to visit Estelle's (my blog is named after her, my paternal grandmother) and read this post. Maine was the perfect place to live...however, we could not leave our children and grandchildren behind....so....we found ourselves right back home in Texas!

DeleteCan you guess? I, too, am visiting on Vee's recommendation! Actually, I was here this morning, just enjoying myself and going from here to there and forgetting all about the day's responsibilities, when, lo and behold, the Fed Ex guy knocked on my back door and there I sat, still in my jammies! Oh dear! I sheepishly took my box from him and left Estelle's. But I determined to come back to this lovely space and that I will. :)
