GROWING YARROW...A VINTAGE HERB

While I have never used it as an herb, it has been a reliable friend that has
survived all of the droughts, floods and freezes that Texas had thrown at it .
Yarrow is a flowering perennial.
This herb will often be seen on roadsides and private gardens.

Yarrow is to be considered the herb of the year..
it's a lovely flowering plant with a somewhat fern type foliage.

It looks good in mass in your flower beds and
it works great as a substitute for Baby’s Breath in home made bouquets.

If you are looking for a beautiful,
reliable herbal plant to add to your beds and borders,
be on the look out for this tall white heirloom

Flowers are typically white but also can be found in pink, red, cream and yellow.
Plants can have foliage as low as six inches or grow as tall as six feet.
Yarrow thrives in full sun to part shade and is excellent in a cottage style garden.

A cautionary tip....Yarrow should not be grown in pastures as it is
toxic to dogs, cats and horses....

Let's plant a little happiness.....

  2. I remember yarrow from my younger days, but I haven't seen any in a long time. Maybe I need to come to Texas!
