Grandmother and Granddaddy
I learned to cook and bake from the time I was five years old from my Grandmother Grace, Grandmother Estelle and my mother, Miss Helen. I marvel at each of them, as I look back on how much they did for their families. The lessons I learned from each of them are invaluable. One of the purposes of beginning a blog, probably like so many others, is to document favorite family recipes for my children and grandchildren. This chocolate pie is a "back in the day" easy- to- make, chocolate pie from Grandmother Grace. If it came from the hands of my grandmother, you can count on it being divine! I can just imagine if she ever knew her picture would end up on my blog and social media she would marvel at this and say, "For Land's Sake!" (one of her all time favorite expressions).
GRANDMOTHER’S CHOCOLATE PIE
1 pie crust
1 cup of evaporated milk
1 cup of evaporated milk
3 T. flour
3 T. Unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup sugar
3 eggs, separated
2 t. vanilla extract
Mmmm... I make chocolate pie too but it sets up differently every time. I noticed that you use evaporated milk. I'm going to try your recipe and see if it works better.
