We are cold, cold Texans y'all....It is currently 15 degrees
with a wind chill of 6 degrees.
I send you warm wishes and hope you are snuggled up
under the covers, staying warm and well in your corner of the world.
Schools are closed and will be for a few days.
Roads are icy and dangerous....
I am so grateful for a warm home and power to cook
delicious meals for the boys....
They were so helpful in storing away the last
of our Christmas decor....
let's take a look at our winter weekend....
Out at the ranch, Miss Elizabeth snapped a few moments of
the sleet and snow outside of her window....
the sleet and snow outside of her window....
The horses wear their winter blankets and gather in the barn on these days....
Such a beautiful piece of property that holds so many memories
of marvelous celebrations....
of marvelous celebrations....
Here at home, Otis loved snuggling under a soft throw....
he does not like winter weather one bit...
he does not like winter weather one bit...
Sunday morning was made even more cozy with hot blueberry biscuits....
Just a bit of snow falling, but extremely cold and icy...
This leaves me yearning for spring and sunshine
Even the birds and squirrels were staying in their nests....

I made a sheet pan dinner of roasted chicken, corn and carrots....
Sunday morning, we had a tiny peek of sun...
then a beautiful snowfall began....
then a beautiful snowfall began....
Lucy was on patrol....
There is no place like home....
remember, spring is sure to follow
remember, spring is sure to follow

We are cold here in Pennsylvania too, but we are a bit more used to it than you! Although the last five years we've had milder winters and I do prefer that! Right now at 10:30am it's 19 degrees but feels like 5! Tim is just in from shoveling our driveway and our neighbor used his tractor to open up our driveway to the road. The plows push the snow along the side and the driveways get closed in!
ReplyDeleteI've had blueberry muffins but never blueberry biscuits. Bet they are good. I do love a good biscuit.
ReplyDeleteIt's still cold not not as much! We did pretty well until the weather thawed out some yesterday and I could hear the sump pumps turn on. Alas, even though we did our best to protect our pipes, we had one break. Ld turned the water off and tried to fix it - but that didn't work. He woke up this morning and told me the water is off. He forgot what he did yesterday. Right now he's out there looking things over. I feel like a pioneer woman hauling water from the bathtub to the kitchen stove to heat for washing dishes!
ReplyDeleteLD had an appointment this afternoon with his primary care doctor but I just rescheduled that since the roads are still bad and he is wobbly on his feet. The thing is - the next appointment available is at 8:00 Monday morning. We don't do mornings well but will have to get it together on Monday. Otherwise we are looking at April 28!
