Good morning Kindred Spirits...
I so hope all is well in your corner of the world!
It's been gray and cold here in Texas....
I am STILL packing away all the Christmas decor
and the outside lighting was removed too!
Our evenings are cozy as we enjoy cocktails by the fire.....
I am loving trying out NEW recipes and today.
I have got a fabulous one to share with you....
So, let's pay a visit to the kitchen....
My thoughts can be so random on nights when I have trouble sleeping...
and I was thinking about my little set of Mikasa plates I had..
I love these little plates and thought I need to use them on the
farmhouse table...and so this is what has transpired....

It reminds me of grandmother's table...
I think this theme could work for most seasons too!

I adore vintage glassware and chose to use
these highball glasses from Kate Aspen.

Harrison Wallace, my favorite home chef and delightful
influencer, who resides in Dallas, bakes these cookies
for most of his dinner parties and celebrations....
he said, everyone will often say, "let's skip dinner, where are the cookies?"

These cookies are a bit of a process, but fun to make and
lovely to bake...what beautiful cookies and I will say,
I was a bit nervous to try my hand at them, but was
over the moon happy about how perfect they turned out!
It's been fun to try new things...

Did you ever go ice skating?
I did as a child and loved it..
it requires strong ankles as I recall....
now that's a lovely memory....

My cousins and I used to ice skate all winter long. One set of cousins had a big pond/overflow and we would skate 'down' the overflow onto the pond (wonder we didn't kill ourselves). My other cousins and I would meet halfway between our houses (homes were 3 miles apart) and skate on the large beaver dam. We would build a big bonfire and skate all afternoon. It was always my job to steal the kerosene (a precious commodity) to start the fire. lol. Those cookies sound amazing!!!! I suppose there is a recipe online for them....will have to check. Happy weekend, Betsy~ xo Diana
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful memory Diana..I am so glad you shared this....I provided a link to the cookie recipe in this post
ReplyDeleteThank you for the cookie recipe. I will be trying my hand at making them soon. I'm still packing away Christmas, too. Little by little. Organizing in order to make it easier for next Christmas, I hope.
ReplyDeleteOh, I must try those cookies! What fun to make them for dessert after a dinner party!
