THANKSGIVING PREPARATION

Hello Kindred Spirits....
Are you deep in thought about your Thanksgiving planning?
I feel organized this year and am loving preparing our home
for the holidays...deep cleaning, changing up the décor a bit,
and planning the dinner!
We have actually been enjoying rather cold temps this week....
down in the 40's and rainy!
Perfect for November don't you think?

I have chicken noodle soup on the stove and am going
to start transforming the formal dining room.....
and sip on a cup of Chai Tea while doing so.....

It's time for bring out my treasured Pilgrims...
I have a small collection and just love each and every one....

A Jim Shore piece...love this one!

I really love the muted colors on this couple....

A trio of velvet pumpkin stems were added to the transferware vase.....

I keep these beautiful lighted gourds on Mother's sideboard...
and use these at Christmas also....

The centerpiece has been completed....
the wreath is from Kirkland's fall collection.

This little primitive Pilgrim couple is from
a Gooseberry Patch catalog...they are about 35 years old and
I love bringing these out year after year....

The colors of Autumn.....
I love candlesticks and decided to use
various candleholders in this little vignette....

I think mixing and matching items bring such interest
rather than matching all your pieces....

And....I purchased this beautiful new quilt set
for our Master bedroom.....I am really loving this look!

I feel good about making progress.....
Now it's on to setting the table with our Woodland china....
polish the silver, clean the crystal and decided on the linen napkins...
I so hope you are all enjoying planning the Thanksgiving holiday
in your home...please tell me what special plans you have this year!

  3. Your dining room is so lovely. So is your new quilt! I think it's beautiful!

Our Thanksgiving is going to be big and lovely and fun. All my children and grands will be there, my Sarah is bringing a friend home from school with her, my brother and sister in law are coming from Arizona, and one of their sons and his family are coming from Tennessee! It's going to be so great!
