COTTAGE STYLE CENTERPIECE FOR THE SUMMER SEASON

Let's set the mood....
Summer is pretty much here...
it seems as if the garden bloomed overnight...
I just saved a recipe for
Strawberry Peach Ice Pops...
how divine does that sound?

So, I was thinking that the farmhouse table needed a new look...
I pulled together a little centerpiece for June....
and as I promised, I wanted it to feature the creamy white
of the Magnolia blossoms.....using things I had on hand...

For the base, I used a wooden cutting board,
two different neutral containers....
faux florals I had on hand....

For ambiance, every centerpiece needs a candle....

with the most beautiful aroma of freshly brewed coffee..

and a touch of green toile.....

I am totally in love with small touch activated accent lights...

Summer brings forth the smell of freshly cut grass,
the ever so refreshing taste of watermelon
and those afternoons browsing the Farmer's Market...

I think it's the perfect time to make a Strawberry Rhubarb Pie..
just like Mother made..
the days are long and carefree....
let's gather at home...

  1. The temperatures here at home are quite lovely. Tim and I ate lunch on the deck yesterday, and basked in the warmth. It was delightful. Then in the evening we went out to sit again. I love watching it get dark, and watching the fireflies begin their nightly dance! I'd be interested in that strawberry peach iced pop if you care to share the recipe!

  2. I always love your posts....
Farmer's Market! What a great idea! I used to gather a few lady friends back in the day and take them to Farmer's Market in Dallas. I drove a big van back then and we would load up on fruits and vegetables and come back to my house to make jam and can green beans and all sorts of things.
One time I read about a cafe close to Farmer's Market so we arrived really early for breakfast before we shopped. Alas, whatever the cafe was featured in the paper was NOT the cafe I took my friends to eat! It.was.horrible. Roaches on the wall and the waitress didn't show up for work that day. My friend muttered under her breath 'I don't blame her!' Sometimes I miss those days we all spent in the kitchen together. Spiced tomato jam, peach and strawberry preserves, pickles, vegetable soup......goodness! I wish I had just a bit of the energy I had back then!!
