What a fabulous weekend!!!!
Son #1 came to visit while
his bride was in Austin for the UT game!
Oh my lawd....what a chef he has become!
Jenn had sent me a text last week, along with this picture
saying..
"Greg made the best bread ever!
I cannot stop eating it!"
And.....so.....of course,
I requested he bake us a loaf!
YOU HAVE TO MAKE THIS BREAD!!!!
Bo fell asleep waiting for the bread to rise.........
Honey.....
Saturday night I was a queen....
the guys prepared our dinner!
Fresh shrimp, scallops and grilled steaks!
All I had to do was bake the potatoes!
While we were gathered around the grill,
enjoying the cocktail hour,
Bo was loving the sights and smells of an autumn day!
Hey....don't laugh...
this is my little corner of the world
and yes, there is a touch of autumn I spy......
Mmmmmm....
what is it about the smell of grilling steaks in fall.......
I cannot tell you how delicious this is......
here's the link if you want to treat yourself.......
Leftover Oatmeal Bread
here's the link if you want to treat yourself.......
Leftover Oatmeal Bread
This was my contribution for a sweet ending...
and oh honey....yes....we double dipped.....
As promised...
Sunday morning was maple bacon and
pumpkin spice pancakes drizzled
with warm pumpkin spice syrup...
and....guess what...
DIVINE!
Once the BoBo leaves....
it's time for lap time with Mommie...
that's me!
How did your weekend go?
I would love to hear about the places you went and the fun you had!
Great pics! There would be no such thing as leftover oatmeal bread. It would be gone in one sitting! Have a great week, Betsy.
ReplyDeleteYou know men cooking or cleaning is some of my favorite things...so sexy. LOL. They did treat you well. But then look at that tasty breakfast. Ted and I went to the nursing home to see his brother and could not find him...his wife, daughter, and granddaughter had taken him to church and lunch afterwards. Missed him. I thought my daughter might be working and she wasn't and was not home or answering her phone. Her DIL said she was at the lake cottage with Matt and Emma Pooh. So we missed them also. Then we go to lunch at a little restaurant and I see people we know and so that made our day out good. Blessings for a great new week. xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteHi Betsy! Oh, everyone looks all busy and you're getting to rest up a bit! Love the looks of that bread too! Now I love breakfast and yours sounds and looks so good! Yummy! Hope you're still getting to rest! Thanks for popping in to see me.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

DeleteHahahahahahahaha....chuckling so much at your fall leaves!!! Cuz girlfriend, I'm right there with ya! Over here in Loosiana, one has to look high and low for anything that resembles red, yellow or orange!!! I plan to make this bread...I can almost smell it thru the pic!
ReplyDeleteI know...pitiful isn't it? Well, just one leaf of color can make me happy! Hope you are having a fun filled autumn! Hugs!!
